Background music for hotels — zone by zone, property by property

A hotel is not one acoustic space. The lobby, restaurant, lounge, spa, gym, pool and rooftop each ask for a different sound, and the difference between “in keeping with the brand” and “sonic disruption” is often a single bad playlist away.

Ambience is built for this. Multi-zone playback, brand-locked audio identity across properties, and AI-generated catalogs designed for the operational reality of hotel hospitality — long shifts, varying guest profiles, and the need to feel right from check-in through last call.

Different zones, different sound — one account

Lobbies need understated welcome. Restaurants need conversation-friendly energy that shifts gracefully from lunch service to dinner. Spas need attention-low texture. Pool decks need warmth without intrusion. Ambience’s multi-zone architecture handles all of this from a single account: each zone gets its own independent playlist, with central control and per-zone billing on Pro or unlimited zones on Enterprise.

Brand-locked sound across multiple properties

Hotel groups face a structural problem: how do you keep audio identity coherent across 5, 50 or 500 properties without controlling every playlist manually? Ambience’s enterprise architecture solves this with dimension-based brand-lock. Property managers can run day-to-day operations within bounds that group HQ has approved — sound identity stays locked, local flexibility stays possible.

Built for long shifts, not party playlists

Hotel music plays from breakfast service through midnight bar close — 16+ hours per zone, every day. Consumer playlist services were never designed for this duty cycle and the repetition fatigue shows quickly. Ambience’s catalog grows continuously, the anti-clustering shuffle spreads Suno-generated batches so siblings never play back-to-back, and the system delivers a sound that holds up across a full shift.

Music designed for the room, not for headphones

Every track in the Ambience catalog is generated for hospitality context. Vocal density is constrained. Transient peaks are tamed. Intro complexity is bounded. Instrument palettes are picked to sit under conversation rather than break it. This is not “lofi background versions” of consumer hits — it is original instrumental music engineered for spaces.

No app for guests, no daily management for staff

One activation link per zone. Staff start a zone, walk away, and the music runs as long as the venue does — no app for guests, no playlist tweaking, no logged-in browser tabs to remember. The platform handles the operational layer so the property team handles guests.

Commercially licensed by design

Consumer streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music) are not licensed for commercial background music. Ambience is a B2B platform with commercial use built in — the catalog is proprietary AI-generated music owned by the platform, so there are no third-party licensing dependencies, no rights changes, and no royalty surprises.

Frequently asked questions

How many zones can a hotel have?

Pro tier includes 2 zones with per-zone overflow billing for additional zones. Enterprise tier includes unlimited zones at flat per-location pricing. Hotels typically run between 4 and 12 zones per property.

Can different properties in the same group have different audio identities?

Yes. Each property is a store within the enterprise account. Group HQ can lock audio identity dimensions (energy ranges, instrument palettes, vocal policy, era) across all properties, while individual properties can vary within those bounds.

Does it work with our existing sound system?

Ambience streams to standard browsers and to iOS via TestFlight today. AirPlay output to existing audio systems (Sonos, Apple TV, multi-room AirPlay) is supported on the iOS app. Multi-zone iOS client architecture is on the immediate roadmap.

Is the music actually different per zone or just labelled differently?

Genuinely different. Each zone references its own catalog with its own category, BPM range, energy profile and structural rules. A lobby catalog and a pool deck catalog share no tracks unless you configure them to.

How is this priced?

Three tiers: Starter (single zone), Pro (2 zones included, per-zone overflow), Enterprise (unlimited zones, per-location billing). All tiers stream the full Ambience catalog — the differentiator is zones and multi-location governance.
